Several Examination and Maintenance Items of Ball Mill

Ball mill is the key equipment for grinding the materials after they are crushed. It is widely used for the wet and the dry grinding of all kinds of ores and other grindable materials in cement, new building material, non-ferrous metal ore dressing, glass ceramics and other production industries.

The normal operation and the service life of ball mill are influenced by the maintenance and repair work of the operators, if failed to timely find problems and eliminate them, it will cause fault which will influence the orderly production or cause the damage of the machine and increase the investment.

Therefore, to guarantee the normal work of ball mill, in addition to the daily maintenance which is mentioned as follows, this machine also needs to be regularly stopped to carefully check and take record in detail the main spare parts, and arrange medium maintenance and overhaul plan in the order to urgency according to the defect situation (once a month is highly recommended).

1. All lubricating oil should be discharged after the mill has continuously operated for a month, and the mill should be thoroughly cleaned and changed with new oil. Later on, change the oil about every six months combining with medium repair.

2. The lubrication condition and the height of the oil level of all lubricating points should be checked at least every 4 hours; when the mill operates, the temperature rise of the lubricating oil of the main bearing should not exceed 55℃.

3. When the mill operates normally, the temperature rise of the driving bearing and the reducer is not higher than 55℃, and the highest should not exceed 60℃.

4. Keep the gear wheel and the pinion driving smoothly and operating without abnormal noise; timely adjust the clearance when necessary; each connection and fastening part is not loose, and there are not phenomena of oil spilling, water leaking and ore leaking on the joint surface.

5. Ball mill should run smoothly without strong vibration; motor current should have no abnormal fluctuations.

6. Steel ball should be timely added according to the wear situation; if there is any abnormal situation, the ball mill should be immediately stopped, checked and repaired.
