In grinding process of powder making machine, in order to ensure a higher grinding efficiency and productivity, we need to have a reasonable filling ratio of grinding ball, meanwhile, we also need to take many issues into account when fill grinding ball, as follows:
1) Largest and smallest diameter of grinding ballBesides the final filling amount of grinding ball, we also need to determine the particle sizes of minimum and maximum grinding balls according to grading characteristics of mineral ores, and then determine types and proportions of grinding balls. Generally, coarse ore grain should be hit by large steel ball and fine particles need small steel ball.
Too many big balls may lead to “less grinding", instead, too many small balls generate large surface area and increase "over grinding”. Therefore, correctly determine the maximum and minimum dimensions of ball is very important for fairly filling ball and improving grinding efficiency of powder making machine.
2) Suitable ball diameterWhen reasonably fill ball, determining sizes of minimum and maximum balls are equal important. Base on the amendments of Olevski formula, taking selective treatments on feeding granularity and required ball diameter by operating priority number can solve the problem on ball diameter.
3) Adding system steel balls constantly wear and the best ball load changes with the continuous working of mill, so it is required to add balls regularly to maintain the original proportion of powder making machine. Drawing method is a new method for balancing remedy, and practice has proved that this way is possible.
